Dr. Rao has co-authored a book titled Radial Pearls, a handbook on tips and techniques for radial interventions, which is popular among doctors in this field. Dr. Rao is the founder of the CACTO and ITCTO bodies where Cardiologists are trained in CTO interventions. Dr. Rao and his CACTO (Complex Angioplasty and CTO) team members have successfully completed 25,000 radial interventions, among the highest in the world, and also the largest number of CTO interventions. The team is involved in several ongoing Research Trials, both in invasive and non-invasive fields.
Dr. Surya Prakasa Rao has been actively involved in associations such as the Cardiological Society of India. He has participated in many international workshops and conferences in India and abroad, including Euro PCR, TCT Washingtion, Singapore Live, etc, either as a delegate, speaker, or faculty member and case demonstrator.
